Metropole Hotel excavates wartime air raid shelter
A long-forgotten air raid shelter was found earlier this week at the landmark Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi when construction workers, who laid the foundation of a new garden bar, struck the shelter’s roof.

Cambodia Culture Week to take place next week
The Cambodia Culture Week 2011 will be held in the southern region from Nov. 16-23. The Arts Performance Organising Centre of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that during the week, a 35-member ensemble from Cambodia will give four performances during the week.

The result of a poll to determine the New 7 Wonders of Nature is announced. The provisional New7Wonders of Nature are, in alphabetical order: Amazon (South America), Ha Long Bay (Viet Nam), Iguazu Falls (Brazil/Argentina), Jeju Island (South Korea), Komodo National Park (Indonesia), Puerto Princesa Underground River (Philippines), Table Mountain (South Africa).
